Mastercard will fund a number of Asian e-commerce startups 04.07.2017

Mastercard has announced that a number of startups will join its Mastercard Start Path program. It was rolled out to help financial tech companies pave way for the future of commerce.

Out of the six startups, 3 were found in the Asia Pacific region. They include an Indian start-up called Ftcash, The platform is tailored for micro-merchants and entrepreneurs. It provides them with SMS-based payment solutions as well as with collateral-free business loans. Aside from SMS, payments can be received via Facebook, WhatsApp, and other popular services. All transactions can be processed through a mobile app.

According to a company’s statement, the new program’s goal is to build a bridge between physical and digital commerce. Start Path representatives promised to cooperate with these startups and come up with a plan that will see those companies grow. The startups will gain access to Mastercard experts, customers and partners.

The world's biggest payment system is ready to include additional startups in their new programs. Potential participants must apply before August 1, 2017.
